JOB DESCRIPTION – Administrative Assistant
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Health and Inoculation Certificate on file in the central office (after employment offer is made).
- Multi-task experience.
- Accounting skills, business management, computer and other related office skills.
- Experience using various computers, computer programs and administrative software.
- Desire to continue career improvement by enhancing skills and job performance.
REPORTS TO: Superintendent.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to coordinate office and clerical support to assist with the efficient operation of the school and Central Office.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with principal, students, parents, school district and community.
- Ability to react to change and frequent interruptions in a productive and positive manner, and meeting deadlines as assigned.
- Ability to screen visitors and telephone calls, directing them to the appropriate person/department.
- Ability to screen and route incoming mail.
- Ability to compose, type, and copy correspondence, reports, bulletins, programs, records, and other materials.
- Ability to obtain, gather and organize pertinent data as needed.
- Ability to maintain an orderly and accurate filing system.
- Ability to enter data, use and provide information from school's student data base (administrative software).
- Ability to respond to information requests in a cooperative, courteous, and timely manner.
- Ability to keep student and personnel information and records confidential.
- Ability to perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as directed by the Superintendent.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Requires prolonged sitting or standing, and use of equipment including repetitive motions and computer eye fatigue.
- Must occasionally work in noisy and crowded environments, with numerous interruptions.
